Tianning Temple was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty temple west built a palace, the royal horse head, Kangxi, Qianlong emperor had resided here. Cao Yin, the imperial historian of salt patrol in Huaihe and Huaihe provinces, set up the Yangzhou Poetry Bureau in the temple and presided over the publication and engraving of the Whole Tang Poetry and Peiwen Yun Fu. Tianning Temple, the first of the eight famous temples in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty, is now not only one of the "Twelve sights of the Canal" in Yangzhou, but also a cultural treasure beside the North moat.
